Even though I don’t like him calling anyone a bitch, this scene is a crucial part of Connie’s development to me.Connie is characterized as the group idiot, the guy who screws up, the guy who doesn’t have two neurons to rub together in his head. But—this shows you, if you’re paying close attention, that Connie is simply not conventionally bright.
Connie’s the one who runs to Armin to see if he’s okay. Armin doesn’t have to say much of anything—he understands, just by watching them, that something dreadful happened.
His foil, Ymir, reacts coldly to Armin’s mental state, to which Connie blindly defends his friend.
Connie’s emotional and social intelligence is higher than almost anyone on the team.
He understands people, first and foremost. Give him a math problem, and sure, he’ll probably sit there. But a crisis with his friends? Connie’s the man for that job.
Fuggin’ Connie Springer, man. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
